Game of Thrones: The Exhibition

The Game of Thrones exhibition reached its climax in Belfast earlier this month and I was lucky enough to get tickets. I've never been to Belfast before and the exhibition was hosted in the new Titanic building on the site where the actual Titanic was built so I was very excited see it as its one epic building!

One of my absolute favourite things about Game of Thrones is the attention to detail that they pay to each costume and prop so I was super excited to get to see them in person especially after reading Inside: Game of Thrones.

I loved seeing those costumes up close and seeing all the tiny details in the embroidery and armour and it was interesting to see the contrast between the simple Stark outfits and the more extravagant Lannisters. There are so many little details you don't get to see and even miss on the show like bones being used as crampons on the Wildling's shoes or the Tully pin Catelyn wears.

Emilia Clarke is tiny, she has such a big presence on screen I never realised how small she was in real life, I don't think I could even fit one of my legs into her dresses! I'll always be House Stark but I do have a soft spot for those Dragons they looked absolutely amazing, I definitely need one for my Game of Thrones collection.

Speaking of my Game of Thrones collection, I love these "battle pieces" from the show and think they should definitely start making a Game of Thrones chess board with them... even though I don't play chess, but it would look pretty awesome right!? And that Stark shield is definitely next on my shopping list from Valyrian Steel

I've seen some pretty amazing Game of Thrones fan art so I loved that they included a few pieces in their exhibition as it's been a great source of inspiration for me to. The Blackwater Bay experience was also a pretty fun addition although I absolutely sucked at it and didn't sink a single ship....

But I do look pretty good on a throne!

5 Awesome and Inspired Doctor Who Tees

Pretty much 80% of my closet is made up of  "geeky tees" and Day of the Shirt has become an obsession of mine as I find myself checking in everyday to see what new t-shirt designs are on offer. These daily T-shirt printing websites have introduced me to so many amazing artists who are creating such awesome, witty, nerdy T-shirt designs that I had to share just a few of my favourites starting with Doctor Who.

I love the Art Nouveau style and all the little details hidden in this design, you can tell it's been really thought out and a really unique, the Amy Pond version is just as beautiful to but we need more Clara tees in this world, just sayin'

What's this? A geeky reference towards a geeky reference in a geeky show about another geeky show it's like Whoception.... you still with me? Yeah I love Community (and Doctor Who) and when nerd worlds collide and create something super Nintendo and awesome it deserves a mention.

I want every single one of these designs they're just so clever and so beautifully done. I'm a sucker for something different and this has me wanting a Disney Doctor Who crossover so much, I just love seeing the Tardis pop up in random places.

River Song is one of my favourite characters ever and this pin up style design just fits her character perfectly, I love the attention to detail in this with the arrow sonic and the "book of spoilers" in fact all these Doctor Who designs are pretty awesome so be sure to check them out!

How cute is this? I love the nostalgic nod to vintage Doctor Who with the logo and Pooh dressed number 4 (Tom Baker is awesome btw!) I mean seriously if Disney ever did do a random Doctor Who crossover just imagine how awesome and adorable it would be!

What are some of your favourite Doctor Who designs? Be sure to let me know in the comments!

Inspirational Quotes #39

"Stay hungry, stay young, stay foolish, stay curious, and above all stay humble, because just when you think you've got all the answers is the moment when some bitter twist of fate in the universe will remind you that you very much don't."

Crown and Glory Floral Crowns + Mini Giveaway

Flower crowns are my favourite accessories ever and summer is the perfect time to break out the flower power. I bought my first floral crown last year from Crown and Glory and I absolutely adore it so I thought I would treat myself to another floral wonder.

One of the reasons I love to buy handmade is the loving ways the products are always sent to you, last year when I bought my first floral crown it came prettily packaged in sugar paper and this year not only did it arrive all wrapped up in sugar paper it also came in its own Crown & Glory dust bag which I absolutely adore.

Since buying this floral crown last year it's hardly been off my head, I was even wearing it throughout the winter months! I have quite a few different floral crowns and this one is by far the sturdiest, it has kept its shape and not lost a single flower even after a trip in a very full suitcase to Thailand and back!

I've been lusting after these "Lotta Rosie" headbands for the past year and very nearly bought it in lilac but I'm glad I waited because these blue roses are my absolute favourite. I love this headband so much that I've worn it almost everyday since it arrived, it's beautifully constructed and the foam roses make it very light and durable.

Crown and Glory also included these pretty little hairclips in their package to me so I thought I would spread the love by giving them away to one of my lovely readers, all you have to do is be a follower of this blog and leave a comment telling me what's your favourite thing about summer the giveaway is open internationally and the winner will be picked at random on June 30th and contacted via email so good luck!

Long Live Fashion: Recycle Your Clothes With H&M

H&M is one of my favourite high street stores and I love how over the past few years they've been making a real effort to become more eco-friendly by introducing new collections and just recently their recycling program to customers.

"Every year, tons of textiles end up in landfills. But as much as 95% of these textiles and clothes could be used again. That's why we are now collecting clothes in our stores. Clothes of any brand, in any quality and any condition."

And if you need extra incentive for every bag of clothes you bring to H&M they will give you a £5 voucher in exchange which can be used on your next £30 shop and don't worry if you're not U.K. based like me as this recycling program is global, so be sure to ask in your local store next time you visit.

One of my goals for this year was to be more considerate of my purchases and it's good to know that there is at least one shop on the high street trying to make a difference. I've already taken one bag full of my old clothes to them and I'm ready to take another!

Spring cleaning is the best and it's great to let go of all those old clothes and know that they're not going to waste. I can't wait to start planning out my new wardrobe, I'm definitely going to try and invest in some staple pieces and H&M has some really beautiful pieces in their Conscious Collection which will be perfect for the summer season to.

Be sure to let me know in the comments if you're planning to recycle with H&M
